Helping Hand House always has volunteer projects for all ages, groups, schedules, and skills.

Our work helping vulnerable families with children to recover their lives cannot succeed without the support of our community. Every year hundreds of people volunteer their time, goods, and treasure to Helping Hand House to assist homeless families on their way to improving their quality of life and becoming stable enough to live independently.

We consider our volunteers as our partners and we intend to maximize their opportunities to the best of our ability. We are dedicated to making sure that we provide safe, organized, and meaningful experiences for each and every volunteer. Our hope is that, in the spirit of partnership, volunteers will take their learning’s about Helping Hand House and homelessness back to their friends and family to infuse the community with the power of lending a hand.

We have developed specific job descriptions that we hope will help you pin-point in what area you would like to contribute and have the most fun with. Please look over the material and our website to learn more about our volunteer programs.

Make a Home Program

Clean and prep a house. Families often leave a house in good condition, so it usually only requires a light cleaning. We want it to look great, so we’ll focus on the details. Once it is clean, we’ll prepare the bedrooms, bathrooms, and kitchen for the family with sheets, towels, food, and similar items. The idea is to make a home – to create an environment that is welcoming for the new family that is entering one of our programs.
