Helping Hand House is committed to protecting client privacy. Like all non-profit organizations, the agency is required by law to inform clients of policies regarding privacy or client information prior to provision of service. This document outlines the types of personal information we receive and collect when a client uses Helping Hand House services, as well as some of the steps we take to safeguard information. We hope this will help you make an informed decision about sharing personal information with us.
TYPES OF NONPUBLIC PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT
Helping Hand House collects nonpublic personal information about you when you apply for Helping Hand House services. This information is either provided to us by you or obtained by us from a third party with your authorization.

We use personal information to provide services you have requested
We use personal information to track and ensure your access to services that involve the participation of a third party
We use select personal information for auditing, research, and analysis to operate and improve Helping Hand House services
PARTIES TO WHOM WE DISCLOSE INFORMATION
Helping Hand House does not disclose nonpublic personal information about current or former clients obtained in the course of our practice except as required or permitted by law.
Permitted disclosures may include:
Provision of information to agency employees when that information is required for service provision
Inclusion of information in a federally required data base
Provision of information to third parties when they assist us in providing services to you; all third parties are required to comply with Helping Hand House privacy policies and any other appropriate confidentiality and security measures.
RECORD RETENTION
Helping Hand House retains records relating to professional services for up to seven (7) years. These records are retained for required reporting purposes only. To protect nonpublic client information against loss, theft, and misuse, as well as unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction, Helping Hand House maintains physical and procedural safeguards in compliance with these privacy policies.
